Hi.
I'm Staci Baird—a journalist, a La Verne resident, and the one-woman newsroom behind La Verne Daily News. I started this because our community deserves to be covered.
I’m a former University of La Verne professor and community newspaper editor who relocated back to La Verne in 2025. While living in Washington state, I served as general manager of Cascadia Daily News, and then I helped launch La Conner Community News. I know what it takes to build a local newsroom from the ground up.
I launched La Verne Daily News in October 2025. I'm a BUSD parent, a member of the La Verne Historical Society, and a volunteer with the local Imagination Library effort. I'm not just covering this community. I live in it.
La Verne Daily News has been established as an LLC and is fiscally sponsored by Tiny News Collective, a 501(c)(3). Donations made through our fiscal sponsorship are tax-deductible.
