La Verne residents can enroll in Southern California Edison notifications to learn about issues affecting their homes.
City Manager Ken Domer encouraged La Verne residents to sign up for Southern California Edison’s outage alerts during the July 20 City Council meeting.

Community members can register to receive notifications about possible Public Safety Power Shutoffs affecting a specific address—even if they are not the SCE account holder.

The alerts may be useful for tenants whose landlord or property manager holds the electric account, caregivers supporting someone who relies on electricity for medical needs, organizations providing electricity-dependent services and people temporarily visiting the area for work or vacation.
Only enrolled addresses that may be affected by a PSPS event will receive notifications.
When enrolling, users must confirm they are authorized to register the phone numbers provided. Enrollment may override previous “do not contact” requests, and standard messaging and data rates may apply. SCE may also notify the account holder that someone has enrolled to receive alerts for the address.
SCE account holders can separately manage their outage notification preferences to receive alerts about maintenance, repair, rotating outages and Public Safety Power Shutoffs that may affect their property.
