The autumnal equinox arrived Tuesday, Sept. 22, marking the astronomical start of the season and bringing day and night nearly into balance, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac. While sweater weather may still be wishful thinking in La Verne (I started wearing sweaters last week in hopes of bringing on the cooler temps), the calendar is turning over a new leaf with festivals, Halloween happenings and community events bringing neighbors together all season long.
