La Verne Officials Advance Prop 218 Process for Paramedic Fee Increase During July 20 Meeting

Council members decided to move forward with a Proposition 218 process to raise the Measure GG paramedic fee during the July 20 council meeting. The council also called for a November election for three City Council seats, took a final vote on the trailer parking ordinance, extended the application period for a public position on the EIFD Board, and adopted new salary and benefit resolutions.

City Moving Billing to Waste Management

Residential solid waste billing will transition from the City of La Verne to Waste Management in September. The last city bill will be dated Aug. 1, and the first Waste Management bill will arrive Sept. 1.

According to Waste Management Senior Public Sector Services Manager Joshua Goldman, a Waste Management representative will be available at City Hall 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Thursday throughout the month of September to assist residents with billing-related questions.

This transition was approved by the City Council at the June 15 meeting.
