Hello neighbors!
One of the reasons I started La Verne Daily News was to create a community news source that listens as much as it reports.
Local journalism is strongest when it reflects the people it serves. That's why I'm asking for a few minutes of your time to complete a short reader survey. I want to better understand what you love about La Verne, what concerns you, how connected you feel to the community and what kinds of stories would be most valuable to you.
Your feedback will help shape future coverage and ensure La Verne Daily News continues to be a trusted source of local information and a platform for community voices.
Thank you for reading, supporting and helping build something meaningful for La Verne!

Thompson was selected for her response to the prompt, "If Someone Visited My Neighborhood, What Would They Learn About America?" — part of the City's America 250 and Route 66 Centennial celebrations.
Thompson's essay:
"If someone visited my neighborhood, the first thing you would notice is the park. You would see neighbors walking their dogs. The next thing you would see are all the tall trees around the neighborhood and people watering their flowers, lawns, and plants. You would see American flags on people's houses and that tells me Americans have pride in their country. In my neighborhood, you would see kids riding their bikes with family people in La Verne like being outside."
