Larios’ Meat Market is moving ahead with plans to open its third location in La Verne, confirming the long-anticipated project is still very much on track, despite a slower-than-expected timeline.

A Conditional Use Permit for a Type 20 beer and wine license was approved by the La Verne Planning Commission in April 2024, clearing a key step for the new market at 1912 Arrow Highway.

Jorge Larios, a member of the family that manages the business, said the La Verne location is “100%” going to open, though no opening date has been set. The project remains in the construction and utilities phase, which he said has contributed to delays and rising costs.

“We’re 100% going to open it,” Larios said. “It’s just getting really expensive. But we’re hanging strong.”

The business is owned by Jorge Larios Sr. and managed by family members, including Jorge and his two sisters. La Verne will be their third location. The Covina location was the first, followed by Chino Hills.

Larios said the La Verne location will be larger than the existing stores and primarily a to-go concept, with a larger shopping area and limited outdoor seating.

The family has personal ties to the area, which Larios said made La Verne a natural fit for expansion.

“We have roots and history here,” he said. “I grew up in Pomona; I went to school at Damien. We’re excited to open in La Verne and be part of the community.”

No opening timeline has been announced.
