School Board Bullet Points: Appointments, Settlements and Surveillance

Bonita Unified approved two principal appointments and special education settlements Aug. 5 but held a campus surveillance agreement for further discussion.

Hello, neighbors!

Students, teachers and staff, I hope you all had a wonderful first week back at school.

As a parent, I’m excited to watch my own children begin another year of learning, growing and discovering what interests and inspires them. As a local journalist, I’m also looking forward to spending more time in our schools and sharing the stories of the people, programs and achievements that make Bonita Unified special.

This fall, I'm planning a special back-to-school issue* that highlights what education looks like in our community.

I also hope to provide more consistent coverage of the school district, including regular recaps that help families understand what the school board is discussing, deciding and spending money on—and why those decisions matter to students and families.

This week’s newsletter kicks off that effort with highlights from the Aug. 5 board meeting.
