Fourth Street Mill in Old Town La Verne has cleaned up in this year’s Best of La Verne competition, winning—what I think is a pretty unique award—Nicest Restroom.

But the restaurant’s winning streak didn’t stop at the restroom door. Fourth Street Mill also took home honors for Best Margarita and Best Outdoor Dining. It was nominated in 10 additional categories, including Best Breakfast, Best Burger, Best Draft Beer, Best Cocktails, Best Date Night Restaurant, Best Happy Hour, Best Lunch Spot, Best Customer Service and Friendliest Staff.

The Best of La Verne is an annual awards program hosted by the La Verne Chamber of Commerce. Winners were selected through online community voting.

Manager Amanda Curtis said the restaurant, which opened in 2015, was named after Hubert “Scubie” Mills, a La Verne citrus rancher, postal worker, volunteer firefighter and 1973 Citizen of the Year. A historical photo of Scubie hangs above the restroom sink.
