What Locals Are Talking About This Week
There were Bobcat sightings in north La Verne west of Wheeler last weekend. I think its name might be “Bobby.” Can anyone confirm the name for us?
La Verne City Council signaled it’s ready to take action on e-bike safety Monday night, authorizing the police department to craft a set of formal rules for consideration in January 2026. The discussion highlighted ongoing community concerns, echoed by several local schools this week urging parents to make sure students wear helmets. The City’s next step: turning those concerns into enforceable policy. In case you missed our E-Bike Q&A, you can read it here. We have several related e-bike follow-ups in the works!
The weather has been cooler, but still sunny, perfect for running all those holiday errands. There was talk of the Santa Anna winds picking up later this week, but as of Wednesday morning, Southern California Edison spokesperson Jeff Monford said no outages were planned for our area. Monford also said SCE is constantly monitoring the weather, and if it looks like conditions might require a shutoff, they will send out an alert. If you haven’t already, you can sign up to receive alerts via email, text or phone on the SCE website here.
