A note to readers about our coverage of school incidents
When incidents involve schools, students, and campus safety, our newsroom follows a careful editorial approach designed to inform the community while minimizing harm.
We report confirmed facts only, clearly attribute information to official sources, and avoid speculation as details are still emerging. In early stages, information often comes from law enforcement or school officials; we are transparent about those sources and update our reporting as additional perspectives become available.
We are intentional about not amplifying threats, rumors, or misinformation, and we avoid publishing details that could increase fear or compromise student safety. Our focus is on what happened, how authorities responded, and what families and residents need to know — not on sensational or graphic details.
We also recognize that school incidents can be unsettling. Our goal is to provide clear, accurate, and steady information that helps the community understand what’s known, what’s not, and what actions are being taken.
As always, we will continue to update our coverage as new, verified information becomes available and welcome tips or questions from readers.
