Potential Buyers are Again Eyeing Shuttered Sierra La Verne Golf Course

Eight years ago, advertisements circulated for the Sierra La Verne Country Club golf course, touting the property as ready for residential development.
But the property was far from shovel-ready: Sierra La Verne is designated as “Open Space” under the City’s general plan, prohibiting any development. And even without that General Plan designation, the property’s zoning designation is “A-1,” or “Agriculture,” which would only allow up to four single-family homes across the entire 111-acre site.
